Ameib Guesthouse & Camping

Guest Farm & Camping

The Ameib Guesthouse lies at the south-western foot of the Erongo Mountains. The Guesthouse - one of the oldest in Namibia - is located at the spot where in 1864 a missionary station of the ‘Rheinische Mission’ was founded, and is especially known for the Phillips Cave and Bull’s Party.

Ameib offers accommodation in traditional “Farm-style” rooms, as well as in 3 Double-Bungalows. Furthermore, Ameib has a Campsite, offering perfect overnighting for the more adventurous traveller. Pre-booked meals are served in the big, open grass-thatched Lapa. The sundowner can be taken on the patio in front of the lapa, looking onto the massive “House berg”, which is lit in breath-taking colours in the days last sun rays.

For relaxation there are two swimming pools, in this arid region a true luxury.

From the house numerous walking trails can be explored, either to the rock paintings in the Phillips Cave or the granite formations at the Bull’s Party and Elephant’s Head. The grand nature of Ameib can also be explored on other hiking trails.
